Children and women under attack: Ending gender-based violence in emergencies

Humanitarian crises, displacement and conflict increase gender-based violence and put children and women at risk. By shaping what happens on the ground, UNICEF, the European Union and many other international partners can further respond, prevent and mitigate risks of these grave violations of human rights.

UNICEF and the EU joined forces to organize an event on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly. It brought together representatives from Governments, International Organizations and NGOs to raise awareness on gender-based violence in emergencies and to instigate more debate on how we can address it through collective action.
